It would only be a vague guideline anyway.
And if developers started 'padding' games to increase the number on the box, that can only be a bad thing.
Good bit of business then, I guess.
Looking forward to playing it.
So now we have critics reviewing eachother's reviews?
It doesn't matter if you thought 20 was too low or 95 too high, that's what that reviewer thought. They think your score is off too. Jeez.
So who decides whether a score is 'legit' or not?
You know the phrase 'damn it with faint praise'? It feels like even fans of the game can't bring themselves to say anything more than 'nice' things about it.
They should be proud, they're making good games and Metacritic shines a light on that for all to see. You would only object if you had something to hide.
Nintendo, stop boasting about your excellent Metacritic scores, it's making everyone else look bad.
Can't bitch about it on the one hand while saying you've a 96 metacritic under your belt on the other.. that's the game, dude.
The score and the content are one and the same, if someone doesn't have the time to read or watch the review, a quick look at the score should do the same job.
Abolish the score and it just means people who don't want to read the thing get nothing, that's hardly fair for them.
Then they don't come back to the site.. and that's hardly good for the critic.
The setting is so cool and I'm actually quite looking forward to this, but I'm braced for a 'so bad it's good' kinda deal.
Meh, I'm not browsing N4G to see what NeoGAF thinks.
I'm a real sucker for these hype videos.. bring it on!
Good grief.. my condolences, Bayonetta :(
Definitely not the end of review scores, but a bad move on Joystiq's part as it will almost certainly lessen the significance of their opinions. Not sure what the logic in this is..
The front runners are probably Bloodborne, Arkham Knight, MGSV, Zelda U and The Division.. but really there's such a depth of exciting stuff coming in 2015 it's almost impossible to make firm predictions..
Good read and yeah, that PS2 lineup in 2001 is wild. MGS2 and Halo also that year..
I remember when indies were in it for the art, not the money. For shame!
Fair play Phil, and you didn't do too bad yourself! ;)
Very cool, this game's a lot of fun.
The fact that IGN gave The Order 6.5 and the Metascore is 65 would suggest there's nothing sensational or odd about their score.
User scores on Metacritic, meanwhile, don't have the best reputation for accuracy..
